It’s been said that you only get one chance to make a good first impression.
When it comes to Royal Caribbean International, it was love at first sight for Lenny and Carol Hines of Kansas City when they set out on their maiden voyage in May of 1996. They were instantly smitten with Royal Caribbean — and eight sailings later, they have stayed loyal to the brand.
“I have to say that first cruise leaving from Puerto Rico was the best experience,” Lenny Hines said. “They’ve all been great, but It set the tone for the rest of our cruises and spoiled us for sure. It has kept us from even thinking about trying another cruise line.”
Acendas Travel and Royal Caribbean
The Hines family has found a winning combination in Acendas Travel and Royal Caribbean. Working with Acendas advisor Mollie Bechtold only adds to the enjoyment for them. Combining her deep knowledge of travel opportunities along with her understanding the needs and wishes of her clients, Bechtold is able to create a package no call center or website can match. Lenny Hines chuckles when he says “the only decision we have to make is when do we leave.”

Cruises appeal to the Hines’ because of the variety of activities afforded to the travel. Those include everything from relaxing by the pool on the deck to the dancing to the entertainment to the food to the beautiful ports they visit. Throw in the excellent service, the cleanliness of the ships and the friendliness of the staff, and you have a winning combination that is impossible to beat.

“It really starts before we set foot on the ship,” Hines says. “The professionalism and willingness to listen by Acendas staff sets them apart. And once we get off the plane, our transportation is waiting for us and takes any stress way. Then, we’re treated like rock stars once we get to the ship. We could not be more pleased with our experiences with Acendas Travel and Royal Caribbean.”
The Hines have a word of caution for people who have not cruised Royal Caribbean — “be prepared to be spoiled!”
Royal Caribbean has been voted “Best Cruise Line Overall” for 13 consecutive years in the Travel Weekly Readers Choice Awards. The cruise line sails 25 of the world’s most innovative cruise ships to the most popular destinations in Bermuda and the Caribbean, Europe, Canada and New England, Alaska, South America, Asia, and Australia and New Zealand.
