As United Airlines celebrates its landmark 100th anniversary in 2026, the carrier is doing more than reflecting on a century of history: it is redefining the future of flight.
Driven by their mantra of Good Leads the Way, United is executing a vision that moves beyond traditional routes to create a tech-forward and deeply personalized traveler experience.
Better onboard technology
United Next – the airline’s newest strategy – includes retrofitting plane interiors with a dramatic nose-to-tail transformation, including outlets at every seat across all cabins. Coupled with the rapid rollout of Starlink Wi-Fi (free, high-speed connectivity for MileagePlus® members), travelers can enjoy more at 30,000 feet than ever before – like streaming on personal devices.
Convenience at your fingertips
United continues to dominate the digital space with its award-winning mobile app. The new Virtual Gate feature allows travelers to skip the podium “gate-huddle” and rest until it’s their turn with a real-time boarding tracker. The “closest and best” United Club feature provides capacity updates to help travelers find the best pre-flight sanctuary for them.

The new business class: Polaris Studio
Travelers are buzzing about the debut of the United Polaris Studio℠ on the new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The new Polaris cabin features suites that are 25% larger than standard Polaris – complete with privacy doors, 27-inch 4K OLED screens (the largest of any U.S. carrier) and, in some suites, even an extra ottoman for companion dining. This is paired with experiences such as a curated caviar and champagne welcome service to ensure the journey is just as much of a treat as the arrival.
Expanding your map
United is adding more flights than ever before in their key markets, particularly in Chicago (ORD) and Denver (DEN). This summer, United will operate a record-breaking 750 daily flights from O’Hare, the largest schedule in its history at the airport, connecting travelers to over 220 destinations. Beyond United’s own metal, the new Blue Sky collaboration with JetBlue is a game-changer for East Coast connectivity. Blue Sky allows travelers to seamlessly book across both airlines, and soon, earn reciprocal loyalty rewards.
Driven by what matters most
While the technology is futuristic, the foundation of the airline remains grounded in their core values: Safe, Caring, Dependable, and Efficient. United invests heavily in customer experience, whether it’s continually refreshing their onboard menu based off feedback or hosting volunteering events in the communities they fly to.
As United enters its second century, its vision is clear: to be the best airline in the history of aviation by combining the scale of a global giant with the personalized touch of a boutique partner.
After 100 years, United Airlines remains committed to its legacy while pursuing a future where travel is more human-centric than ever. For the global business community, this commitment ensures a travel partner that really lets Good Lead the Way.
