Some hotels offering you flexible checkout times for your traveling convenience

Hotel check-in and check-out times can often have travelers looking for something to do to kill the time. A number of hotels are offering a way to avoid the wait, according to the New York Times.

Marc Dardenne, the chief executive of Patina Hotels and Resourts, will offer a 24-hour-stay at a Singapore property scheduled to open in December. Guests will be able to check in at 3 p.m. and check out as late as 3 p.m. the following day.

Peninsula Hotels began a similar program a few years ago. Guests at the Beverly Hills property aren’t even restricted to checking out within 24 hours.

“You can check in whenever you want, and leave whenever you want,” the property’s managing director Offer Nissenbaum told the New York Times.

Nissenbaum adds the service is one reason the hotel has a return customer rate of 70 percent.

Horst Schulze, the chief executive and president of the Capella hotel group, explains the traditional check-in and check-out times are for housekeeping reasons. However, Schulze said, rotating cleaning service times can free up rooms throughout the day.

“Not sitting in the lobby or beach with your suitcase and waiting for a flight is the definition of luxury to me,” he said.
