Public Open House set for Tuesday, June 20 at Eden Prairie office

Minneapolis — It has the look of the command center at NASA or the bridge of the Starship Enterprise.

Though not launching rockets or traversing galaxies far, far away, Acendas Travel is employing proprietary technology and processes that will enable it and its clients to track travelers real time — and make proactive adjustments in the event of disruptions such as weather, equipment, scheduling delays, etc.

The technology will be on display between 2 – 7 p.m., at a June 20 open house at Acendas Travel offices, 10125 Crosstown Circle, Suite 247 in Eden Prairie. To RSVP for the event or seek additional information, contact Acendas Director of Corporate Sales T.J. Salo at 952-831-3525 or tj.salo@acendas.com.

“The combination of the technology plus our travel consultants allows us to monitor traveler schedules and make contact if necessary pre, during and post trip,” Salo said. “This proactive approach takes the onus off the traveler to monitor their own travel logistics and deal with long lines at check-in counters or being placed on hold at reservation centers.”

Salo also notes the technology satisfies much of the travel risk management requirements for companies. According to the Global Business Travel Association, travel risk management includes: “the company knowing where its travellers are so that it can support them in a timely and effective manner following any incident that could affect their health, safety or security; and that it has in place arrangements to support travellers – and those about to travel – following a security or safety incident.” Acendas corporate clients have the ability to utilize the technology to monitor their employees as well.

The technology has been dubbed by Acendas staff “Mission Control” after the nerve center at NASA that carries the same, and because it was first launched at company’s other location in the Kansas City suburb of Mission, Kan., last year.

“Acendas Travel is unique in how it delivers travel services to the marketplace,” Salo says. “Technology allows us to act efficiently, proactively and with speed. In the end, we can save our clients time and money, and remove the stress caused by the disruption from travelers.”
